Can a Chevrolet Spark EV use Tesla Superchargers?
Yes. Chevrolet vehicles have had official Supercharger access since September 2024. You charge at any Supercharger marked “open to non-Tesla” using the Tesla app.
The 2016 Spark EV has a CCS1 port. At NACS stalls you need a NACS-to-CCS1 DC adapter: the GM NACS DC Adapter (85836744) ($275). GM's first-gen adapter was $225 (Sept 2024); the current GM-branded unit is $275. Never free. All 2027 GM EVs have native NACS and ship with CCS1 ($189) / J1772 ($67) adapters sold separately. Adapter details. Magic Dock sites (green) need no adapter at all.
At the stall: the 2016 charge port is driver-side front. Pull in nose first and close to the post. You will often end up using the post to your left; Tesla says that is acceptable when the site is not busy. Expect up to about 50 kW at a V3 stall. CCS1 was optional and only about 50 kW; several adapter makers exclude the 2013-16 Spark EV from compatibility, so check before buying.
How to charge: download the Tesla app, choose “Charge Your Non-Tesla”, add a payment card, pick the site and stall number, plug in, then tap Start. Older V2 Superchargers (grey on the map) only work with Teslas.

- Bolt EV/EUV charge at only ~55 kW regardless of stall type.
Good to know about Superchargers
- Only Superchargers marked 'open to NACS partners' (V3, V3+ and V4 stalls with the Tesla app 'Charge Your Non-Tesla' flow) are usable by non-Tesla cars. Older V2 stalls are Tesla-only. A small number of V3 'Magic Dock' sites have a built-in CCS1 adapter and work for any CCS1 car regardless of brand agreement.
- V3 and V3+ dispensers run roughly 400-500 V and top out at 250 kW. 800 V-class cars (Hyundai/Kia/Genesis E-GMP, Porsche Taycan/Macan, Audi Q6/A6 e-tron, Lucid, Mercedes CLA, Cadillac Escalade IQ/GMC Hummer/Silverado EV in some modes) charge slower there unless they have an on-board boost converter. V4 cabinets (500 kW, up to 1,000 V) started going live in September 2025 and remove that penalty.
- V3 cables are short and sized for Tesla's rear-left port. Cars with a front or passenger-side port often have to park nose-in or across two stalls. V4 posts have longer cables.
- Adapters: only a DC 'NACS-to-CCS1' adapter approved by the vehicle maker is covered by that maker's warranty; Tesla's app will still let unapproved adapters charge, but the OEM may deny warranty claims. AC 'J1772-to-NACS' adapters are a different product and are irrelevant for Superchargers.
