NACS adapters compared: OEM vs Lectron vs A2Z

If your car has a CCS1 port you need a DC NACS-to-CCS1 adapter to use most Superchargers. Every car maker with access now sells or supplies one, and three aftermarket brands sell universal units. The short advice: buy the one your car maker approves, because that is the one your warranty covers. Prices run $185 to $275.
The rules that matter
- DC only. These adapters are for Superchargers and other NACS DC fast chargers. They do not work on Tesla Destination Chargers or home Wall Connectors; those need a separate AC NACS-to-J1772 adapter.
- Warranty follows approval. Tesla's app will start a session through almost any adapter, but if an unapproved adapter damages your charge port, your car maker can deny the claim. Ford, GM, Hyundai, Kia, Rivian and others state this explicitly.
- 500 A is the practical ceiling. Nearly every adapter and every CCS1 inlet is rated 500 A, which caps 400 V cars around 170 to 200 kW even at a 250 kW stall. Porsche, Audi and Subaru publish 430 A continuous.
- Native NACS cars need none of this. If your model year has a NACS port, skip the adapter. Pick your car to check.

Sold or supplied by the car maker. Where a maker gives them free to some owners, the note says who.

Which one should you buy?
- Your car maker's adapter, unless it is unavailable. Same 500 A hardware, warranty-safe, and several are free or included with the car.
- Lectron Vortex Plus if your brand has no adapter yet (Jaguar) or you want a spare. It is the only aftermarket unit an OEM (BMW Group) has blessed.
- A2Z Typhoon Pro if you want the lightest, most compact unit and accept the warranty risk.
Does Tesla sell one? No. Tesla sells the opposite adapter (CCS1 charger to a Tesla car). There is no Tesla-branded NACS-to-CCS1 adapter for non-Tesla cars; Magic Dock stalls are Tesla's answer, with the adapter built into the cable. See every Magic Dock site.
